AU 2018 Day 2 November 13th, 2018
The day started off extremely early with the annual AU5K and this year Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost joined a couple hundred of us at 6:00am to run a marked course along the strip. It was a blast! The fastest this year was a person that ran the 5k course in 15 minutes!
My hyperlapse of the AU5K run.
Later in the morning was the AU General Session. Autodesk President and CEO Andrew Anagnost shared his perspective on how automation, the convergence of design and make technologies, and the changing nature of work can unlock opportunities to do more, better, with less negative impact on the world. The theme this year was The Opportunity of Better. Following Andrew in the stage was Autodesk CTO Scott Borduin, Autodesk Director of Robotics Erin Bradner, and author of “Imagine It Forward” and former GE Vice Chair, Beth Comstock.

After the General Session the EXPO Hall opened.
I went to the AU Theater to watch some friends and former team members and their presentation on robotics and human-machine collaboration. Evan Atherton and Heather Kerrick kicked some major metal on stage .
That evening I held the annual Blogger and Social Media Meetup. LinkedIn Learning provided the pizza and refreshments, HTC provided us with some fun VR experiences, and everyone had a lot to say and fun discussions were held until late in the night.
Here is the official Day Highlight Reel although it is titled day 2 Day 1. Seems everyone differing on Monday being day 1 or Day 0.
And that was one really long day for me… Next up another big day 3 including the big AU Party.
