Today was the unofficial start of Autodesk University 2014 and the official opening day starts tomorrow. today there were several events throughout the day and many people arriving. If you are attending AU 2014 make sure you attending the Opening Keynote for some great speakers including Autodesk CEO Carl Bass and we have some cool surprises up our sleeves.
Some of today's highlights:
I checked out the MegaBot Mark 1 robot. I want one to commute in complete with a turret that fires 3 inch paint balls at high velocity.
Mickey McManus showed me the exhibit where you will be an active participant drawing on everything.
The 3DRV is washed and shiny fresh from its about 8 month trek across the US.
I was a mentor at the Freshman Orientation. I gave lip balm to my mentees to help them save their lips from drying up this week in the dry Vegas desert climate and provided some of my best AU tips after 23 AU events. One of my mentees caught a t-shirt from the tee-shirt cannon.
I ended my evening early with a reception in The Foundation Room with great company like Autodesk's Andrew Hessel. and the nice view looking down the Las Vegas Strip.
I need to get some sleep and prepare for a big Autodesk University 2014 Day 1 which starts at 6AM with a run down the strip with about 30 attendees. We are meeting at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Mandalay Bay Rd.
