Autodesk Feedback Community Outage Tonight at 7:00 PDT
09 July 2014
This is the final reminder that we will be upgrading server hardware and rolling out a new version of our Autodesk Feedback Community platform tonight. The Feedback Community hosts both Autodesk Beta and Autodesk Labs for over 125,000 users around the world.
Planned Maintenance:
Wednesday July 9th 7pm PDT until approximately 12am PST.
The Feedback Community will be offline for approximately 5 hours while we make this major update. Of course with any server and software upgrade you don't expect any issues but plan for them just in case and have people ready to address them.
When you log back in on Thursday July 10th the server will be faster and you will see some new features such as:
- Addition of avatars in the forums
- Real names in forums instead of confusing usernames
- A mobile device compatible access to the Feedback Community
- Some formatting differences and options.
We will have more new features to rollout after we make this initial upgrade as we did not want to change too much in this migration and are choosing to enable them out in stages as well as provide instructions to community members. One of those features we will be considering is the ability to allow everyone in a project to vote on reported issues, wish lists, or discussion threads and several more. We are also working on a revamped login process to be rolled out hopefully by Fall.
What do you need to do? Nothing really except be aware of the outage. We would appreciate that you take this time to update your contact information and and beta and labs participation profiles so they are fully current.
Regards,
Shaan
