Commentary by Shaan not related to John’s article:
Before people get freaked out and consider the Autodesk desktop products and the cloud in the future as I had seen in Twitter. I want to make sure people understand with regard to the cloud or remote hosting of Autodesk products. Autodesk does not believe in making desktop products only available in the cloud and removing the desktop as it would be an option for people to choose for themselves.
Choice is an important thing for customers as each customer has their own needs and data control preferences in addition to IT and security policies. For some desktop will always be what they want and for other the ability to immediately run your applications from anywhere without installing or finding the files is a great option to explore.
