Today is the eighth birthday of this blog. It was eight years ago I started blogging as a means to spread information, tutorials, promote other resources, and share my warped sense of humor. Last year Bill Adams made a 7th birthday cake, this year I decided to make my computer and the blog into a cake and light a candle on it.
Lee Ambrosius a technical writer for Autodesk and currently writing on AutoCAD for Mac documentation has detailed the new AutoLISP functions in AutoCAD 2012 for Mac. I have known =Lee for many years prior to him joining Autodesk and one thing is for sure besides being a hard worker he is one of the most knowledgeable AutoCAD experts I have ever met inside or outside Autodesk. He is a true AutoCAD Ninja.
I have recently been personally experimenting with Google+ and the Hangout feature where up to 10 people can use their webcam and microphone to live chat. So far I have held several Hangouts all with great results and feedback. I am even perfecting a way to not only show my face but also switch to my video screen to show something if needed.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Pecos Conference 2011 in the forest at a campground near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. There was over 350 archeologist at the event and several papers presented. I had a table to show Autodesk Labs Project Photofly which can take photos from a standard digital camera and produce a 3D model in textured mesh as well as .LAS point clouds.
Things are definitely looking Up! for Bangerter Homes of South Jordan Utah. I learned of them from the Salt Lake Parade of Homes and saw the mention of a full scale aka life-sized house based on the popular Disney/Pixar movie Up!. The house was located in Herriman Utah just down the road from me, and I just had to go visit it. After visiting I contacted the builder asking what they used and some of the details of this very unique custom home, they said they used AutoCAD of course.
