Shape Extraction for AutoCAD on Autodesk Labs
We're not kidding when we say your experience shapes the future of our technology. Please do let us know what you think of this technology preview at [email protected] or the discussion forum. Your opinion counts.
This Shape Extraction for AutoCAD plugin on Autodesk Labs allows you to convert points from a point cloud acquired by a laser scan or photogrammetry and extract planar, spherical, and cylindrical shapes. I am currently working with a very large data set of the Seattle Gas Works provided by FARO, and I will be posting on this blog a detailed work flow example.
Shape Extraction for AutoCAD update: installer directly supports AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011
There is also a version for Civil 3D. This version can recognize for main Civil 3D features as well as standard geometry.
The technology preview is an intelligent point cloud shape extraction solution which allows you to import, load, and extract civil-specific shape and geometry information from point cloud data in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
