Each Year my team has offered a few full paid scholarships to attend Autodesk University 2006 including travel, lodging, and entrance to some of the best training and networking available. This year was no exception. We offered to active AutoCAD feedback and beta members of http://MyFeedback.autodesk.com an opportunity regardless of their location to get a scholarship. The only requirements were to be an active participant in feedback and/or beta testing of AutoCAD and tell us why they wanted to attend and creativity was recommended. Last year Rick Moore won a scholarship after creating a song on why he wanted to attend. While the scholarship is free these winners earned the reward as a small token from us at Autodesk for all of their hard work and feedback on making Autodesk products better.
This year we had 3 AU scholarships awarded.
- Robin Capper of Auckland New Zealand
- Steve Johnson of Perth Australia
- Nick Van Laar of Fresno California
We also gave away 10 $500 discount AU certificates.
Below is the YouTube video submission of Robin Capper that won him the extra points in creativity and humor this year.

A Paper Aircraft, MyFeedback, and how I got to Autodesk University 2006?
Get involved in Beta and Feedback projects for all Autodesk products at http://myfeedback.autodesk.com and perhaps you will get to AU 2007 for free as well as all the benefits of beta testing and networking with some of the worlds best Autodesk product users in the private MyFeedback community. Meet the Autodesk MyFeedback Team at booth 415 at Autodesk University 2006 exhibit hall as we will be giving away a couple new Microsoft Zune media players.
I will soon be posting some details of some Geekfest get togethers at AU 2006 as in the past several years. My common AU meeting/gathering/chatting spot between and after classes for this AU will be the La Scena at the Venetian or at my booth 415 in the exhibit hall.
Cheers
