I left Orlando this afternoon after Autodesk University ended and headed South for Naples Florida which is on the Gulf of Mexico and roughly 100 miles to the West of Miami. I did come up with some hopefully helpful tips on travel.
1. Never try to navigate or provide directions to your boss when they are driving in Southern Florida in the dark. You could end up directing you and your boss into the everglades swamp, and that is just what I did. Simple mistake and no gators got us.
2. When visiting an area that has recently been hit with a hurricane, never assume you can just find a hotel room available in the area. We eventually found a place but it took some time.
3. One of my old tips but still a a good one. If you run out of toothpaste, try using Altoid mints and rubbing them in your mouth after chewing them. It will not be as effective as toothpaste but you will at least have fresh breath.
