In eight years of blogging I have received several questions on AutoCAD and Autodesk on this blog in comments and tried to answer each one. There is no real formal method to ask a question that is not related to a specific topic of a specific blog post and some have posted their questions to random other post comments. It is for this reason I am experimenting with a Open Mic post for AutoCAD & Autodesk Labs related questions or perhaps just a general comment about this blog, me, my hair or beard, you looking for a job, or the upcoming Autodesk University.
Social media and social networking is supposed to be 2-way and engaging like a conversation, not just a web page of posts sorted by date. I intend to keep the 2-way going with enabled comments to the blog as well as my participation in Twitter and other social media methods to connect with everyone and participate.
This is not intended to take the place of official product support or the great forums available with even better peer product experts than me in the AUGI forums and Autodesk discussion forums.
If you have a burning question to ask on AutoCAD, AutoCAD/Autodesk trivia, Autodesk University or Autodesk Labs such as how something works, a problem, wish list, or just something you love and want to pass a message top the product team post to the comments of this post. Try to ask questions that are not programming related or require me to research for the next month of my free time. Please understand as an Autodesk employee there are some questions such as dates of future releases, pricing, or future product plans I am unable to answer due to rules and lawyers.
Lets see how well this Open Mic idea works and if we should do more of them. The comments to this post will be open until the next Open Mic Wednesday posting. Please keep the comments g-rated and no spamming.
If you have an answer on something feel free to answer another persons comment and exercise the power and community of the readers of Between the Lines!
Cheers,
Shaan
