After a few years of development and millions of lines of code this first native AutoCAD for Mac is a giant leap forward in providing Autodesk customers the choice of platforms for their trusted AutoCAD and DWG files.
With the great deal of anticipation for the native OSX version of AutoCAD it will be crowded download line which could cause network congestion and slower download speeds in the initial rush to download the long awaited release. We just recovered from the over quarter of a million new users in under 2 weeks that immediately went to use new & free AutoCAD WS for all major web browsers and the AutoCAD WS Mobile products for the iOS devices like the iPad blowing away our expectations and bringing servers to their knees. We are now comfortably scaled up with AutoCAD WS but I dare another 250,000 to sign up in the next two weeks. ;-).

Students can download AutoCAD for Mac FREE from the Autodesk Education Community and their special page http://www.autodesk.com/mac4students. Autodesk licenses over 25 products to students for a 3 year term for free. You need the best education, you should use the best software as well.
